Hongkong, 22nd. August, 1907.

I have the honour to transmit the

enclosed Memorial from Mr. Thomas Steven Egerton regarding

the circumstances under which he recently severed his

connection with the Government Service.

2.

Mr. Egerton was appointed a Ward-

-master in the Medical Department, on a salary of £110

rising to £150 per annum, on the 13th. of June, 1905.

He was at first employed in the

Lunatic Asylum but was subsequently transferred to Kennedy

Town Hospital.

On the 31st. of March, 1906, he

was reported for being absent for 14 hours from duty and

was dealt with for the offence by the Head of the Depart-

-ment.

On the 1st. of December, 1906, he

was' again reported for being absent from duty from noon
